Oskar Schlemmer, der ab Herbst 1923 die Bauhausbühne leitete, erinnert sich, das vom ersten Tag an neben der Freude am Gestalten ein besonderes Gespür für Satire und Parodie geherrscht habe. „Es war ein Vermächtnis der Dadaisten, alles ins Lächerliche zu ziehen, das nach Ernsthaftigkeit oder moralischen Grundsätzen roch.“ In seinem „Figuralen Kabinett I“ versuchte er, mit Kabarett-Methoden die „Fortschrittsgläubigkeit“ seiner Zeit zu parodieren. Die Aufführung zur Bauhauswoche 1923 bezeichnete er als „babylonische Verwirrung voll Methode: halb Schießbude – halb Metaphysikum abstraktum“.

Das Programm spannt einen Bogen von der Ur-Szene des Dadaismus 1916 im Cabaret Voltaire Zürich bis hin zu „Stasi-Dada“ (2016) der Künstlerin Gabriele Stötzer, die am 4. Dezember 1989 in Erfurt zu den Initiatorinnen der ersten Besetzung einer Stasi-Zentrale in der DDR gehörte.

Oskar Schlemmer, who lead the Bauhaus-Stage from 1923 on, accounts that right from the first day on, a joy for creativity and a specific sensibility for satire and parody were present at the school. „It was the heritage of the Dadaists to make fun of everything that smelled of seriousness and moral imperatives.“ In his „Figural Cabinet I“ he attempted to parody the „belief in progress“ of his time. He described its presentation at the Bauhaus-week 1923 as a „Babylonian confusion full of method: half shooting gallery – half abstract.“

The program of this Cabaret evening will create a bridge all the way from the Dadaist primal scene in the Cabaret Voltaire Zurich to  the „Stasi-Dada“ (2016) by the artist Gabriele Stötzer, who co-initiated the first occupation of a Stasi-central station in the GDR, in December 1989 in Erfurt.
